Winter is now coming to an end so we are starting to look ahead and filling our diaries with some of the amazing things London has to offer over the next few months. From art exhibitions to the latest restaurant openings, here are our top picks for what to do this Spring.
David Hockney at the Tate Britain
Arguably the greatest living artist of our time, David Hockney’s retrospective at the Tate Britain is this Spring’s unmissable exhibition. It is the most extensive collection of his work to date, documenting his impassioned, singular vision and promises to be a truly facinating insight into his life.

If you missed Benedict Cumberbatch’s sell-out performance as the Shakespearean Danish prince in 2015, then why not see his Sherlock co-star Andrew Scott take on the role titular role in the Almeida’s forthcoming adaptation. Under the reins of director wunderkind Robert Icke, it’s set to be an original, exciting version that we can’t wait to see.
Hamlet opens on 17 February until 22 April, Almeida.co.uk
Ivy Soho Brasserie
We are huge fans of the Ivy restaurants so were delighted to hear that they have opened yet another elegant eatery this time in London’s Soho. From the outside, the restaurant has a chic Parisian feel to it, complete with a terrace adorned with flowers, while inside the décor is inspired by revered artist William Blake who used to live on the same street.
We are planning lunch there in a few weeks so we will report back.

A fun day out at ZSL London Zoo
If you are around London this February half-term then here his something a little bit different to do with the kids. ZSL London Zoo is inviting children to step into the role of vets in a truly unique role-playing experience.
After arriving for work at the hospital’s reception, junior vets will be prepped with gloves and masks before joining the team in the specially recreated ‘surgery’. Children will help experts examine, x-ray and carry out toy treatments – experiencing first-hand the huge variety of work carried out by the Zoo’s vets, vet nurses and zookeepers on a daily basis. There will also be talks and activities as part of this family week, which will explain what the amazing vets team do to keep the Zoo’s 18,000 animals in tip-top condition – from microchipping meerkats to checking tiger teeth. A really special and memorable day out.

We grew up watching Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and can still sing all the words! So we are really looking forward to seeing the latest onscreen version when it hits cinema’s in March. Emma Watson will make a fantastic Belle.
